When you own a car, you’re going to find out that a car insurance policy is going to be crucial.  So, what happens if you just want to get insurance for a limited time?  When you search out policies, you’re going to find out that many companies out there are going to require that you sign up with a 6, or even 1 year deal. While many people don’t want to get into a commitment, I wanted to show you what a short term insurance policy is good for, and how you can get one.

How short term policy is going to work?

An insurance company is going to cover you for a limited time.  What you’re going to find out is that you can be covered anywhere from 1 day to as long as you want.  It will work just like any other insurance, but will only be limited.

These policies are great for those that want to take cars out for a limited time, such as summer car, etc.  You could also find that you have a car laying around that you need to drive around for a few days, but as we know, you can’t just drive around without insurance.

If you want to get short term insurance, you’re going to find that the easiest step to take is simply by asking your insurance company as of today.  I, personally have a third car that I rarely drive.  Whenever I want to drive it, I can call up and tell them to insure it for 24 hours.  Once I get the confirmation, I can be on my way.  Talk with your insurance company to see if they can offer something like this.

You will find that if you’re not currently with anyone, you will more than likely have to either apply for a quote online, or you can talk with a local car insurance agent. 

What is a good car insurance estimate?

You will find that your estimate is going to vary.  They are going to factor many things in such as your age, the car you’re driving and more.  It’s really hard to give you a quote, as everyone is different.  The best thing to do is simply call up, and see what they can do for you.
